Membership Directory
In The Ark's "Golden Years" program, adoption fees are waived for pets eight years and older adopted by senior citizens 60 years and older. Now, all "Senior Citizen" pet adoptees receive a free lifetime membership in "AARP", complete with a membership certificate suitable for framing, a lifetime membership card, and a permanent photo listing here on the Ark website's "AARP" Membership Directory.

BUDDHA is a big, friendly, black and white boy of impressive size. He prefers lazing around, draped on a lap, or curled in a chair. He's just an easy going, good ol' boy, whose idea of exercise is purring up a storm when you pet him.He weighed 21 lbs. when this picture was taken, but was put on a healthy weight-loss diet at the shelter. AMANDA is a 7 1/2 year old little black pug with no teeth. She gets along with other dogs and with cats. She walks on lead, and loves to sit with her new person, Gary, and be petted. Adoption January 2007
DELILAH is a spayed 8 1/2 year old Italian Greyhound who likes everyone she meets. Just give her the slightest opportunity, and this sweet girl will hop into your lap for a snuggle. Adoption March 2007
KEILA is a 7 year old silver and white spayed Husky mix. She is an absolute sweetheart with people. Keila is a sturdy girl who likes to go for walks on lead, and she adores car rides. Adoption March 2007
LUCO is a neutered red and white Siberian Husky who likes everyone he meets. A handsome, sweet guy, he just wants to spend his time inside with his very own person. He doesn't want to be tied out by himself for any longer than it takes to go to the bathroom. He's a smart one, listening well and enjoying his training sessions. As long as he's with people, he's a happy boy who likes to go for car rides and for leash walks. Adoption June 2007.
ZIPPER is a winsome spayed tabby born in 1993. Her owner could no longer keep her and Zipper came to us in search of a new home. An indoor-only, declawed cat, she's very friendly with a quiet, sweet temperament. Zipper is an undemanding, happy, friendly feline. Adoption August 2007.
SHEEBA is a pretty, slightly built, shepherd mix with a sweet, affectionate nature and basic training down pat. A quiet, loving dog, she likes everyone she meets, and gets along well with other dogs. Adoption October 2007.
PRINCESS is a lovely 10 year-old long-haired spayed calico. Princess is content to sit on a window sill, watching the world go by, or to curl up on a bed for a relaxed snooze. Not a lap cat or a cat who needs a lot of affection, Princess will come to for attention if she wants it. Adoption October 2007.
AMBER is an orange striped tiger who loves a quiet home where she can spend her time in a lap purring to her heart's content. This 6 year-old spayed female, quiet and unassuming, gets along with other cats. Adoption October 2007.
QUEENIE is a gray and white lovely, a big 8 year old spayed girl. Queenie does love to be petted and brushed. Adoption October 2007.
SUGAR PLUM is a small, cute-as-a-button tortoise shell kitty. She's our miracle girl. If her former owners are to be believed, she is 20 years old! Sugar Plum is exceptionally affectionate, although we can't imagine a cat with less reason to be such a loving kitty. Adoption October 2007.
BUDDY is a black and white, neutered border collie/spaniel mix, with a sweet, quiet temperament. He knows basic training and is very mannerly. Buddy likes to go for car rides, and he's an excellent companion on lead. A friendly, loving dog, he just wants to be wherever his people are. Adoption October 2007
BOSLEY is a very large, black neutered male with big double paws, who talks a blue streak and will capture your heart with his big green eyes. Looking out the window is a favorite pastime. He's very good with other cats, and friendly with all people. Bosley is a big baby who loves to be petted and will reward you with a purr that sounds like a an outboard motor. Adoption November 2007
SAMMY is a a 7 year old neutered male with an endearing personality. Sweet, and a little shy when you first meet him, Sammy is not at all pushy, an affectionate guy hoping you'll know that he likes attention, but lacks the confidence to ask for it. Sammy is mostly a woman's cat, bonding strongly with his person or family (but he'll hide when visitors arrive). Adoption November 2007
SHADOW is a 15 year old spayed beauty. With her soft, shiny fur, she's comforting to pet, and a good thing, too, because Shadow is a lap cat who just loves to be petted. She's a sweet, loving pet in excellent health, now happy to lavish her attention on her own special someone. Adoption December 2007
SADIE is a 9 year old, spayed Spaniel mix, thrilled to go for walks and delighted with car rides. Sadie is an affectionate, very sweet girl with people. She is very good about telling you when someone is coming up the driveway, and she has plenty energy if you're inclined to play with her. Sadie just loves to be hugged. Adoption January 2008.

JAKE is the quintessential marmalade cat, slim and beautifully marked. Jake is very affectionate and still has lots of love to give. Adoption January 2008.
TILLY is a sweet cat who likes to be petted. As friendly as you could ask for, Tilly was surrendered when "Mom" had to go into a nursing home. Adoption February 2008.
PARKER is an 8 year old gray/beige, neutered tiger with a white bib, white mittens, and a white Fu Man Chu mustache. He is a very sweet boy, patient with young children, good with dogs and other cats, playful and protective of kittens and very friendly with people. More like a dog than a cat, Parker thrives on attention, following you everywhere, inside or out. He is a joy to have around if you like an affectionate cat. Adoption April 2008.
PIPPI is a 7 year old tiger, a big, beautiful girl with a sweet personality and a unique purr. Pippi is affectionate and loving. Although a bit shy, she is definitely a people cat. Adoption April 2008.
ALFRED was found as a stray on a bitterly cold night, badly matted and in need of a good meal and a bath! To our surprise, even with an amateur haircut given here at the shelter, Alfred turned out to be a gorgeous, mocha-colored Cocker, with an absolutely lovely temperament. He LOVES to go on walks full speed ahead, and his little docked tail never stops wagging. Adoption June 2008.
SUKI is a dark chocolate brown, sealpoint snowshoe Siamese, with striking blue eyes. A neutered male, Suki is a big boy about 9 years old. Especially fond of laps and pats, he seeks out human attention. Adoption June 2008.
GARTH is a curly haired, chocolate Cocker Spaniel. A neutered male, he likes to go outside as long as he's with his people. He really enjoys car rides, and he loves to go for walks on leash, where puddles are some of his favorite things. A happy dog with a loving personality, Garth wants to be wherever his people are. SYLVESTER is a black and white tuxedo with a cute pink nose. This very sweet, impressively big boy has everything to recommend him. A 7 year-old neutered male, Sylvester gets along with other cats, and loves to be made of. A big baby, Sylvester is an indoors-only fella who will sit in your lap, purring up a storm when he's cuddled and petted. He's also entertaining, playing with his toys and with any person who'll engage him in playtime. Adoption November 2008.
DOLLIE is a very sweet old girl, a miniature poodle whose health was grossly neglected in her younger years. An affectionate girl, Dollie loves to curl up in your lap, snuggling contentedly. Dollie has been adopted by a compassionate person willing to keep her clean, in a loving home where she can spend her remaining days, warm, fed and happy. Adoption November 2008.
AMBER is a 6 to 8 eight year old golden/collie/retriever mix with soulful brown eyes. A grown-up girl with good manners, she occasionally displays a great sense of humor, throwing herself on her back and wiggling around like a puppy. She knows basic obedience commands, and enjoys training, especially the treats! Adoption January 2009.
MOCHA is a 5 1/2 year old spayed female, a dark gray, tiger-striped girl with big double paws making her extra appealing. Mocha is super friendly with people. She purrs up a storm when attention comes her way, and she likes nothing better than a soft lap and a hand to pet her. Adoption March 2009
MILEY is a gem of a cat who gets along with other kitties. A spayed short haired tortie born in 1998, she is an indoors-only kitty. She loves to be held, loves to be petted and made of, likes to be brushed, and especially enjoys curling up in a warm lap. Adoption April 2009
ALLEY ANNA is a small kitty with a gray mackerel suit contrasting her beautiful white face and bib. A quiet, independent little girl, occasionally batting her ball around, Alley Anna likes to be petted and to have her head scratched. Adoption May 2009
ESMERELDA is a spayed gray tiger born 2002. Formerly a stray who took shelter in someone's barn, Essie is a friendly soul, who enjoys petting, cocking her head to look at you. Adoption May 2009
CAKES originally known as Pancake, and his brother WAFFLE are affectionate and love attention. Purring while snuggling in your arms, Waffle and Cakes enjoy petting and are heat seeking missiles whenever a lap presents itself. Cakes, the smaller of the two, is a very affectionate, green-eyed, orange tabby, while the larger Waffles, is a friendly, green-eyed, orange long-haired Maine Coon type. Adoption May 2009
MOLLY & WILLOW are two of the nicest and most deserving pets you could imagine. These two siblings (yes, as unlikely as that seems, they are siblings) are equally sweet and affectionate. Molly is a spayed, black and white beauty with soft fur and big eyes, while blue-eyed Willow is a handsome, cream and peach neutered male of impressive size. Adoption May 2009
MAX and RUBY are black and white tuxedo cats. Both are friendly. Max is described as a friendly lover by his former owner. Also friendly, Ruby is almost a short-haired duplicate of her brother. Adoption August 2009
GYPSY is a spayed Lab about 6 years old. She is a mellow, friendly girl who likes all people, adores kids, gets along great with other dogs and is very good with cats. One of her favorite activities is playing ball, a good thing because Gypsy needs to lose a few pounds. Going for long walks on lead is another favorite, and of course, car rides are top on her list of fun things to do. Adoption November 2009
PRINCESS AMBER is a declawed white cat with a few splashes of black decorating her long fur. Probably born in 2002, she had always been the one and only, sharing a quiet home with an elderly lady. Adoption November 2009
CHANCE is a neutered Golden Retriever rescued as a stray. He is an awesome boy. He adores people, he likes other dogs, and he seems to like cats, too. We can't say enough nice things about this elderly fellow. We think he might be 10 years old. But don't let his age fool you. No placid plodder, Chance is an energetic boy, not hyper, but certainly not a lazy couch potato either. Adoption November 2009

NELLIE is a pretty gray tiger probably about 5 years old. A stray kitty rescued during the coldest days of winter, Nellie is now an indoors-only kitty. FINLEY & FURRGUS are big, look-alike gray and white neutered boys with beautiful soft fur and long white whiskers. These fellas get along great with kids, dogs and other cats. Indoors only, both are lap cats who love to be held and petted. Very affectionate boys, they also adore each other. Finley, with one green eye and one brown eye, can be entertained with a laser light for as long as you're willing to play the game, while both cats like to play with toys and with each other.
