Senior Kitties-Don’t Overlook Them

Looking for a cat? Don’t overlook the older ones!
Many times, older kitties stay at the shelter for years, much too long! A shelter is supposed to be a hotel — a temporary space. It is no substitute for a permanent home with an individual or family. We want to save as many lives as possible. When older cats remain in the shelter for long periods of time, we are unable to serve other cats in need.
Many cats, especially older ones, may be overlooked because they have seemed shy or timid. Please think about giving these cats a chance. Although it may take a few days, the shy or timid cat will come out of his or her shell. Older cats tend to be much calmer and far less demanding than young kittens, but they still want someone to love.
The adoption fee for a senior cat is only $50. Your new family member will already be spayed or neutered, and up to date on shots and medical care. Please consider making a difference in the life of an older cat — and reap the rewards! Contact us for more information about senior cats available for adoption at the Ark. (207)546-3484
