Paws is a shy and affectionate cat who finds comfort in quiet corners and the gentle company of other cats. Though he’s slow to warm up, his sweet nature shines through in soft nuzzles and peaceful purrs shared with those he trusts. Always close by is his devoted brother, River, who takes his role as protector very seriously. River keeps a watchful eye, always ensuring Paws is safe, unbothered, and never overwhelmed. Whether Paws is trying to nap in peace or cautiously joining in with the others, River is never far, ready to step in if things get too noisy or crowded. Their bond is deep and unshakable—a quiet love guarded by unwavering loyalty
River came to us with painful ear infections and discomfort that just wouldn’t go away. What we found was much worse than expected: growths deep inside one of his ears that block his hearing and cause constant inflammation and pain. Once finding his ears in that condition we pushed for ear surgery as soon as possible due to his pain and discomfort.
We are happy to announce that as of today (8/6), River is recovering amazingly!
River had his drains removed on Friday and is healing beautifully. In fact, his vet said he’s the gold star standard for recovery!
He’s still under close watch, with another recheck in two weeks. Over the weekend, he was a bit dehydrated and not eating much, but with a little support and an appetite booster, he bounced back and was soon eating like a champ!
