River the plott hound is the perfect combination of courage and athletic ability. Do you like to go for daily walkies? River’s got you. Do you like to go for hikies? River is down. Do you like to just bond with your dog by throwing balls and playing? River is there. And if all that matters at the end of your active day is cuddling up with your snuggly hound dog on the couch, then River has your back SO good.
Hounds can make BEAUTIFUL house pets, when given the proper socialization, consistent routine, ex, and mental stimulation. (Like any other dog, really). We also believe that for a plott hound, River is pretty chilled out. Does she bark and bay from time to time? Um, yes. She is a hound dog. Sorry guys.
We hope River doesn’t have to stay in the shelter much longer.
We believe River will fit in well as an only dog, unless the “right” dog came along, only with proper introduction and plenty of supervision until everyone knows each other. River can’t be placed with kitties…She is like the old cartoon where when she looks at kitties she sees hamburgers and chicken drumsticks instead.
River would be ok with someone “fancy smancy” who buys her Bark Boxes and mind-doggie games. But she’d also be ok with someone who simply loves her and spends times with her and works with her, even if they don’t buy Bark Boxes! Maybe you’ll just share your peanut butter and jelly once in a while and give good belly rubs.
River is about 2 years old.
