About The Ark

Our Mission

Since 1984, The Ark Pope Memorial Animal Shelter has been committed to providing compassionate care and placement of homeless animals, alleviating overpopulation of companion animals by promoting low cost spay/neuter programs, and promoting and improving the welfare of all animals through community outreach and education.

The Ark is a nonprofit IRS 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the care of homeless, unwanted, or displaced animals. As a no-kill shelter, The Ark does not euthanize unless a serious medical or behavioral problem exists.

In 2024, The Ark Pope Memorial Animal Shelter made a lasting difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them. Thanks to your support, we found loving homes for 202 pets, provided 313 spay/neuter surgeries, and ensured access to over $60,000 in veterinary care for pets in need.
