Nashira is a beautiful little rescue dog from Peurto Rico. She is a lab mix who is about two years old. She has a good temperament and socializes well with other dogs. She is affectionate. She is new to the Ark, and would love to meet her possible new family sooner than later so she can romp around in her back yard, play toys and go for walks!

Meet shy Reuben, who is waiting patiently for the perfect family who will practice a lot of love and gentle compassion.
Reuben came from Puerto Rico, and was rescued from a bad situation. His motivation are food, treats, and warm comfy naps.
“I need a slow-feeder bowl, cuz I love to eat, and sometimes I eat too fast for my wittle belly! I just started to learn to like being petted by humans, but sometimes I flinch and can be very scared. I still don’t know how to play with toys, and I would love to get use to going for walks. These things look like a lot of fun to me. I’m currently on a special diet for my alopecia (hair loss). Please, please be gentle with me. I have been scared and my life was not easy. I need cooing, gentle voices, and a lot of love.-Reuben
Reuben really hopes you can teach him love again.
Reuben is almost 6 years old. He does great with cats, other dogs, and kids, however we prefer that Reuben does not go home with young children due to him scaring very easily. He needs time to acclimate in a quiet, tranquil environment and to not be scared.

Lucky is such a beautiful soul, inside and out!
He is NOT an unwanted dog, but instead came to us from very sad circumstances within his family where they were unable to keep him- but he was very well loved.
Lucky is mild-mannered, will probably do well with another well-behaved dog and kitties, and seems to love all people and going for rides. He is 8 years old and up to date on his shots and neutered. He is ready to go home with the perfect family today! Lucky is a tad overweight, and so will probably need some good walkies and to have someone help him with his diet needs. (Maybe cutting back on food and mixing in some fresh carrots, sweet potatoes or canned green beans at meal time will do the trick)!
We’d love to see people with beagle experience, as Lucky has some of those lovely “beagl-y” characteristics including barking and howling. He will need to be on a sturdy run/tie-out for potty time or a leash, and/or a very secure fenced yard.
Lucky is 8 years old.

Happy, friendly, handsome and full of love, we are pleased to introduce you to 3-year old Lucky, who was re-named after a lovely woman saved him from an abusive home. She cared for him, met all of his needs (medical, love and shelter) but ended up having to bring him to the Ark due to personal reasons. She was very heartbroken and loved Lucky very much. Lucky loves to be with gentle people and women, and even thinks he is a lap dog. He loves to go for walks.
Thanks to his pet guardians Lea and Roger Lane, we are going to be able to care for Lucky’s special neuter procedure, all the toys he wants, and buy him a new bed. You will see in the picture that he chewed up his favorite bed. We think he was very confused and upset and was wondering what is going on.
Lucky has suffered injuries to his mouth. He has problems chewing hard food and we need soak his food in warm water for him to be able to eat it. Lucky is scared of people throwing toys and lifting hands over his head. He is strong on a leash, and needs a little bit of work on his leash. He has tested positive for a tick-borne illness as well, which we will treat as needed.
Lucky is kennel trained and does very well in his kennel. It will be best for him to have a comfy and quiet kennel space available to him to go to when he pleases, at night and during the day.
We will not be adopting Lucky to a home that has young children. While we believe that Lucky is not aggressive AT ALL, what we DO believe is that Lucky has been through a lot, and noisy, bustling and unpredictable children would not be what he needs rights now. Lucky needs to be in a quiet home with mellow, older adults, preferably women who are gentle, patient, and have very big hearts.
We ask for serious inquiries on Lucky only, and we hope you have read all of his info before calling us. Please keep in mind that Lucky has been treated very poorly by the people in his life, but he does NOT treat people poorly as a result. This dog needs some love.

We have some ADORABLE updates on Zeus!
He loves to throw toys for himself and then catch them. After he goes outside, he runs right back inside to get his milkbone. (Milk bones are his favorite)! He likes to dig in the snow, he loves to play, and is very unique. He loves to get belly rubs, and after oiutside time, you have to wrestle him to get nakey. (To get his collar off). He loves belly rubs.
He is a handsome mansome who was neglected by his owners, however his spirits are high! He is a 8-10 year old blue heeler/pit mix. His personality is awesome. He has some minor skin issues. He is not yet neutered so we will have to do a foster-to-adopt, and/or an adoption with a neuter contract. Look how handsome he is and what a good boy he is! He is of cattle dog mix, so someone with experience with cattle dogs is preferred. We hate to see older dogs in a shelter environment. This gentleman needs to be in a home.
