Meet 2-year old Odin, who is just as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside. Some dogs just have it all, and Odin is one of them. He does wonderful with people. His favorite hobbies include: Swimming, cuddling, playing fetch, and hiking. Odin always wants to be with his person, and he loves to ride in the vehicle! He is house trained, and doesn’t need to be in the kennel. He needs to be on a leash, and in a home with no other dogs. Odin loves fruits and veggies as treats! He eats 1 cup of food for every meal. He needs a slow feeder or he ‘frows up his yummies because he loves his food SO much that he eats it too fast!
Odin will also need to be in a home with OLDER children, 11 years or up as he can get overly stimulated and a little nippy with young ones!
If you think you might be the active, loving and one-dog family who could meet Odin’s needs, please give the shelter a call. He is waiting to snuggle WITH YOU, after playtime.

Meet 2.5 year old Klaus, who is currently in foster. His foster family loves him so much and are going to continue fostering him until Klaus finds his perfect match. Here is what is wonderful foster family has to say about him:
“First he is sweet and very lovey. He gets along well with our dog as well as others we have introduced him to. (he does get barky at new dogs but he gets over it pretty fast). He is also good with our cats but he sometimes does like to try and get playful with them. He has been around indoor birds and chickens and done well with that too.
We have been crating him when we leave the house which he does well with but he does sometimes bark and whine.
He is pretty high energy and will likely do well in a home where they can regularly exercise him with walks or ball or just a good romp in the yard. He eats any toys he’s given so its best to give him ones that are hard for him to destroy but he loves a good chew bone.
He may also do best in a home that has a consistent schedule. His biggest problem is that he is not easily house broken. He will be good for a few days but then will randomly poo in the house. He may need to be crate trained for night time as that is when it is happening the most at this point.
Klaus being energetic is working on boundaries and jumping but he’s pretty smart and knows how to sit, lay down, and spin. He is very food motivated (but hasn’t been food aggressive). Because of his energy bigger kids may be better. (if not perfect for him). “

Meet the 8 year-old papillon who is looking desperately for someone to foster him! Although his life has not been the best, he continues to take everything with grace and stride. Louie is not potty-trained, and will need someone versed in helping little dogs with some training. At times, he will need to wear a belly-band to reduce “marking’ as he is not yet neutered. We will make sure he is neutered while in foster care. We feel it’s very important for Prince Louie to be in a foster home rather than the shelter environment due to his needs. We also hope that the foster home would be a foster-to-adopt home. Prince Louie enjoys being held, and being with his people constantly. He loves car rides, sleeping on the bed with his folks, being in laps, and being carried around. As long as you are with him, he is happy! Prince Louie has a bit of a sore mouth with some work being done, so it is important that he have wet food for now, preferably mixed with water, as his water intake has been less than ideal. Prince Louie is an excellent dog, very “chill” and laid back. Big dogs tend to love him, as do little dogs and kitties too. He is very accustomed to being around other dogs, and would do best in a home with other furry friends. Prince Louie enjoys his time outside, and likes to romp in the grass. He likes to be at your heels and follow you everywhere!
We plan on being a bit particular about Louie’s foster home, but are welcoming foster application on his, and hope that you call the shelter today to make an appointment to meet him. We have ordered a front-hanging sling for the lucky foster who has the time and patience to spend with Louie, as at only 4 pounds, he would love to be close to you and be carried around!
Prince Louie will need frequent brushing and regular grooming due to his coat.
*Please understand that belly bands are recommended not just for your floors and furniture, but also for training purposes. Where he is not neutered, if he marks in your house it will leave a scent, which will in turn make an un-neutered male mark again.*

Handsome. Charming. Silly. Playful. These are just a few of the words that describe Oscar. He is three years old, and hoping to go home soon to a big yard, a family that loves him, and someone who is willing to have him in their life forever. He is very loveable and he LOVES playing fetch with tennis balls and getting tons of affections. If you would like to learn more about Oscar, give the shelter a call! We will tell you all about him. He seems to do ok with a couple of the other dogs at the shelter, but would encourage/require a safe outside meet and greet with your dog and him prior to him going home without fencing in between them.
