Bella

Bella

Bella is looking for you to be her heart, soul, and savior. With her precious looks and dynamic personality, she will win you over on your worst of days. Bella needs a quiet home environment with someone who is patient and understanding. Bella is a “door darter,” and will try to escape when you open the door, so she will need someone vigilant and quick on their toes, who is willing to work with her on this unfavorable behavior. She tends to get over-stimulated, and would thrive in a home where she gets a lot of one-on-one attention without a lot of other pets. She barks a lot, and tends to act like a tornado in the bath tub. Perhaps with time, patience, and an understanding owner, she may begin to love bubble baths like the princess that she is! She is great with cats (other then yelling at them sometimes) and does great riding in a car seat (but she yells about that too sometimes). Please call the shelter today to ask about 3-year old yorkie, Bella!

Jack

Jack

JACK HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Do you enjoy snuggling with little dogs? Do you appreciate a strong bond between yourself and “man’s best friend?” Do you have time, patience, and a huge heart? If you answered yes to all of these, than you might want to come into the Ark and meet Jack, a loving and sweet one-year old beagle. As a young hound breed, Jack will need work on some of his basic manners, including counter-surfing, jumping, and walking politely on a leash. Although very petite for a beagle, he has a little bit of strength behind his pull! He enjoys putting his nose to the ground, and smelling his way all over the place. His favorite things to do include cuddling, wagging his tail, and playing with kitties. Jack does well with other dogs, but can sometimes be scared of them if they are dominant or bark at him, so he may need some adjustment time to get acclimated to his new surroundings. Jack enjoys being close to “his people” and will bark and howl when left alone. He likes to follow you around and look at you adoringly. For Jack’s adoption, we will require a secure fenced in back-yard* and someone who has experience with hound breeds. Please give us a call or stop in today to meet your new best friend!

Skud and Slinky

Skud and Slinky

“I is not mean, I just has pretty toothies.” This is Scud, who is just the sweetest thing. He likes to show off his “little” brother Slinky, even though they are the same age. Skud weighs about 18 pounds and Slinky falls behind at a whopping 9 pounds. Once you meet these two, you’ll see that they will run away with your heart, and you might even want to adopt both of them together! Please come in and meet these two Pomeranian mixes today. (We believe they look more like papillons, but either way, they are just as lovable as they can be)! DOB 2/12/19.

Taina

Taina

Say cheese! This beautiful lady is smiling for the camera, hoping to be home soon. Taina is a beautiful chestnut caramel color and is a 20-week old spayed female. We aren’t exactly sure of her mix, but we just know that she was mixed right! If you have an interest in this lovely pup, please call the shelter or stop in, and fill out an application! Taina will need to be adopted with her sister Terri, who is the same age and mix, but a lovely ebony black in color. Both dogs don’t “show” well, and tend to bark at people, are can be very fearful. They will need to have multiple meet and greets in order to be able to go home with someone. We are looking for a family with dedication to working with fearful, timid dogs that have a lot of patience and love. At the Ark, we just know they will find a home as loving as they are. Take a look at our website to read about Terri as well!

Terri

Terri

“Will you come meet me and give me a treat?” This is Terri, wondering if you would like to come see her here at the Ark and bring her home. She is a  spayed female who was born in September 2019, and is smiling at the camera just for you! She has adorable paws, pretty teeth, and fur as black as a January night sky. Although we aren’t sure what breeds make her up, we DO know that she must have been mixed with all the right stuff. Come meet Terri today and fall in love.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon

Cinnamon HAS BEEN ADOPTED!  She is kind, gentle, loving and fun! Do you have an appreciation for the deepness in a dog’s eyes, that come from their soul? This girl’s eyes truly are the window to her soul. Cinnamon is very smart and food oriented. She is currently doing very well with learning to sit. She appears to be potty-trained and is coming around quickly with all of the staff, and looks forward to any attention that she gets! Weinheimer mix? Chocolate lab-ish? Hound-ish? Either way, we are sure this girl is a perfect mix of sugar, spice and everything nice. That must be why her name is Cinnamon! She is currently an Ark mascot, living in the Administrator’s office and is making the perfect one. She loves to play! She could use some work on her manners (jumping up on people, jumping up on furniture). However, with a girl so eager to please, we are certain she will make you happy quickly with some basic training and some patience. She is around 5-6 years old and weighs around 55 pounds. We are currently accepting applications for her adoption, and would be happy to put her on hold for the perfect family. Give us a call to ask more questions!
