Millie

Millie

My name is Millie and I will be two-years-old in February. As you can see by my picture I’m a small breed mix—maybe a little Pug, a little Chihuahua, and a bit of Boston Terrier. The humans at the Shelter are very nice to me and I love them all, but life isn’t easy for me. You see, they tell me I wasn’t socialized with other humans or dogs when I younger, so I don’t always react well when first introduced. But once I get to know you, it’s all about the love. I did spend some time with a wonderful trainer, and she said that I could learn to be a good canine citizen with some more training, patience, and love. The Shelter is offering to help pay for training when my new forever home comes along. I hope that is soon, because I’m wishing for a new home by Christmas. So Mr. Santa, please find me a home with lots of love to spare.

Chico

Chico

Hi there, I’m Chico, a one-and-a-half year old Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix. I’m only seven plus pounds, but I feel like I’m 107. I think that’s why I ran into some trouble at my last home; see, the kids there would always tease me, so I was constantly on guard. That aside, I’m a real snuggle bug. In fact, my favorite spot is on top of your shoulder where I can better keep an eye on things. I’m dreaming of a quite home, a soft warm blanket, and kind hands to hold me.

Yoder

Yoder

Yoder is an eight-year-old Australian Shepherd who was recently returned to The Ark through not fault of his own. A good student, he recently passed his “Good Canine Citizen” classes with flying colors. Yoder loves to go for walks and car rides, and is compatible with most dogs, even cats. Yoder just wants a home where he will be accepted for who he is—a smart, skilled dog whose wagging and waiting for that right home to come along.

Thumper

Thumper

Look at this cute face and those big brown eyes! How can you resist him? His name is Thumper, and he is a four-year-old Beagle. Although he loves to get in nature and put that nose to the ground, he was never used for hunting, but rather enjoyed the easy life on the sofa curled up with his loving owner. He gets along great with other dogs and does fine around cats as well. Thumper will strike into song when overly excited; but he’s a fairly quiet, mild-mannered guy who just wants to be loved.

Poppa

Poppa

Poppa is a ten-year-old German Shepherd who spent the past nine and a half years living outside chained to a doghouse. Day in and day out, life never changed for poor ol’ Poppa until he came to stay at the Shelter. Recently given a clean bill of health by the veterinarian, Poppa is looking to start a new chapter in his life. He’s a sweet guy without a mean bone in his body, and so grateful to be living indoors surrounded by caring hands. He cherishes his time out on walks, taking in all the smells that he was never able to sniff out from the end of his chain. He gets along with other dogs and doesn’t seem to mind the cats. Poppa deserves to spend the rest of his days in peace and happiness.

Logan

Logan

Logan is an eight-year-old Beagle who spent the better part of his life tied outside. Yes, some people still believe that Beagles need to live outdoors. Well this little guy is so happy to be indoors and to have a warm bed to sleep on—he’s ready for the real thing. Had he not come to our Shelter, he was going to be shot because he was “old” and no longer “useful.” Well Logan is ready to prove how useful he is by being the best companion a dog can be.
