Willie Nelson’s Story

Willie Nelson (formerly Conway) came to The Ark not knowing the important role he was about to play in someone’s life. His adopter visited in October 2023 after the loss of a beloved cat, hoping to find a companion who would choose them back. Willie made his choice instantly, curling into a lap and refusing to move.

In the months that followed, Willie became a steady, comforting presence as his family worked through the loss of a loved one. They shared how grateful they are for the joy, companionship, and strength he’s brought into their home.

In the family’s own words…

“He not only jumped in my husband’s lap — he wouldn’t move. I said, ‘We’ll take him.’ Willie has kept me going ever since.”

“Thank you, Ark, for taking care of Willie until he was sent to me.”

Mom

Mom’s Story

Mom arrived at The Ark as an older cat looking for a quiet, loving home. Her adopter found her on our website, felt an instant connection, and knew she was the one. Now settled in, Mom spends her days exploring, bird-watching, warming keyboards, and winning hearts along the way.

Her family shared this sweet update about how well she’s doing and how supported they felt throughout the adoption process.

In the family’s own words…

“I fell in love with Mom the moment I saw her on The Ark’s website. She has settled in beautifully, loves to explore, and easily wins hearts. I am so thrilled with this beautiful and sweet girl.”

“The staff were so kind and helpful. Lori has been so supportive through the adoption, and Jasmine was very encouraging from the first call. I send my thanks and bless them for the work they are doing.”

Lexi

Lexi

Lexi’s Story

Lexi came to The Ark in 2011, and it didn’t take long for her to decide exactly who she wanted to go home with. When her adopter sat on the floor to meet her, she walked straight into his lap and made herself at home, the kind of instant connection you never forget.

Fourteen years later, Lexi is still deeply loved and continues to bring joy, comfort, and companionship to her family. Her adopter shared this story about the day she chose him, and the life they’ve shared ever since.

In the family’s own words…

“A beautiful one-year-old tuxedo named Lexi ran straight into my lap and into my heart. She adopted me on October 30, 2011. She has brought nothing but pleasure to me these last 14 years, and I hope for at least 14 more.”

“What a beautiful place with great staff and residents. I donate because they’re so kind and generous.”
