Stacey

Stacey

Stacey has had a really hard time finding her forever home. While Stacey is a very good little dog and does very well at the shelter, we have learned that she would really do best with a single person. Stacey is a very gentle little dog. She wants to snuggle. When you pick her up, she likes to give hugs. She likes to go for walks and does not mind a leash at all. She loves treats! She also likes to be held and is one of the quiet ones. She is very loving when she’s comfortable. She’s timid and shy, and very protective. When Stacey finds the love of her life, she will never let you go and she will protect you all the time!

Welcome: The Ark’s New Shelter Manager

Welcome: The Ark’s New Shelter Manager

The Ark staff and Shelter Administrator would like to take a moment in recognizing Michelle M. Wright “Shelly” as the new Shelter Manager at the Ark!

Michelle has been a full-time  Animal Care Technician since July 2019, and volunteered with us prior to being hired. She takes charge with confidence, is excellent with the public, committed to Pet Point Date Entry and is taking charge of it. Most importantly, Shelly is dedicated to the shelter and has natural insight to animal care and well-being. Shelly takes every animal that comes into the shelter under her wing. This includes dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rats, rabbits, birds, and any other critter that comes our way. Regardless of their behaviors and challenges, Shelly loves them and respects them.

Shelly was the first employee to be recognized as Employee of the Quarter, always being willing to help and being confident in decisions in regards to animal care. At any given moment, you will come into the shelter and hear Shelly gently cooing to every animal she sees while providing them all with love and respect.

Shelly has a background in animal care, employment in pet stores, and experience with staff management and training. Welcome to the management team at the Ark, Michelle! We are so happy and proud to have you as the Ark’s new Shelter Manager.

Very Sincerely,

Shelter Administrator

Wesley

Wesley

The only thing Wesley knows is love. He is very patiently waiting to go home with someone who is patient and committed. Wesley was found dumped off in the backwoods of Wesley. We can assume he lived in a garage or a kennel his whole life, and isn’t quite used to living in a home. He is doing ok with house training, but will need more work and will need to be kennel trained and have lots of love and attention. It is guesstimated that he is around 4-5 years old, but he tested positive for Lyme Disease. At times, he is a little lame and likes to lay around a lot, although he can be playful and goofy. We would love to have a conversation with the right family about the sweet Wesley. Wesely is around 40 pounds.

Hyperia

Hyperia

Hyperia is a 3 year old Bunny. She is very beautiful and very soft. She wants to be in a home where she is treated like a princess, with clean blankies, clean cage daily, carrots, hay, toys and love. She is an Albino Lionhead. We beleive she might not be fixed, so we will need to take her to get spayed soon before her adoption. We will be looking for a $50.00 donation for her adoption, and we will need to see your set-up for her, in preparation of sending her home. Give us a call!

Luna

Luna

This is Luna. She’s the sweetest girl in the world! She was reluctantly surrendered by her owner due to medical issues (with the owner) and she’s eager to get into her new furever home. If you’re looking for a lap cat to cuddle with during the cold months, here she is.

Amilee

Amilee

This is Amilee. She’s sweet and relatively calm. She’s an older gal and she’s diabetic. She’s not afraid to get vocal but typically she’s quiet. She’s also known to be curious.

Hester

Hester

This is Hester. She’s a bit of a bossy brat to the other cats but she’s very sweet to humans. She will engage in play and follow you around. She’s very curious and has been known to escape the room when the opportunity presents itself so be alert around doors with her. She can be vocal at times.

Edgar

Edgar

This is Edgar. He’s an old guy who’s sweet as can be and so very well behaved. He’s shy and likes to be in small spaces. He’ll lick your hand and arm when you’re trying to clean his cage and he’ll rub up against you. He loves to knead and I swear you’ll never find a cat as handsome and as sweet as Edgar.
We’d really really prefer he go to a home without dogs or small kids simply because they make him nervous. Our ideal home for him is an older lady or an older gentleman with a quiet and cozy little home that he can call his own.
Snowball

Snowball

This is Snowball. He is at least 20 years old but he’s still getting around fairly good. He’s sweet and cuddly and very well behaved. If you have it in you, could you consider giving this lovely old man a comfortable home to live out the rest of his days?

Minnie

Minnie

Minnie is a little old lady yorkie who is looking for someone to take her home and let her sleep and be happy in her golden years.

Minnie suffers from a luxating patella and is taking some medications to help her with her pain. She does not prefer to be picked up, as it causes her some discomfort and she becomes snappy. She does, however, love attention. With the staff, she licks their faces and loves to be scratched behind the ears.

We will be looking a home for Minnie with owners who understand her needs. Please call us today, as we will be happy to discuss Minnie!

PS. She has been known to steal bites of staff’s pizza while they are driving her home from vet check-ups, so you may want to wait until you get home to eat pizza if you have her in the car with you.

Tyga

Tyga

Tyga.
Incredibly shy and nervous. Likes to hide. No history nor signs of aggression. Most likely a sweetheart once comfortable with you. Would do best in a quiet and calm home. 1.5 year old male.
Truffles

Truffles

Truffles.
So handsome! Can get grabby if treats are around. Wicked sweet but always be attentive of his body language (he is a Siamese, after all). Mostly quiet. Well behaved. Due to Siamese nature, wouldn’t recommend a home with small children or elderly.
