He arrived to us with his right cheek torn completely open, but healed over. He didn’t let that stop him from making new friends and making everyone smile, though. After some time with the vet to make sure he was safe and healthy, us Ark staff were over the moon to have him back! Brodi is around two years old, a black lab mix who is healthy, happy, and just simply a sweet boy. We hope he finds his home soon. Handsome Hudson is currently taking applications for his new family. A rottweiler, Hudson was surrendered to us, at no fault of his own. Hudson is smart, funny, playful and affectionate! Boots and his girlfriend Bebe were adopted together! Do you like cats with TONS of personality? Cats that make you laugh, and keep you entertained? Well then, my friends: Meet Boots! Boots enjoys playing with paper bags, twitching his tail, cuddling with his girlfriend Bebe, and playing with toys. Although much older than Bebe, with his mitten-paws, good looks, and personality-plus, it’s really no wonder why Bebe picked him for a boyfriend! Boots loves other kitties, and he has a heart of gold. He might be nearly ten years old, but you would never guess it! He is a handsome domestic long hair tabby with white markings. He has a funny looking walk, but it’s probably a combination of obesity and what the vet to believes possible arthritis. He doesn’t let that stop him from loving life and looking for his home!

Mama Kitty is so pretty and she knows it! When you come in to meet her you will see her “strut her stuff.” She likes to rub up against objects, chill-ax in her cat tree, purr, bask in the sunlight, and show off her good looks. She is a Domestic Long Hair Calico, born 02/05/2014. As you can see, she has stunning caramel orange streaking through her beautiful face. Meet Henry! Handsome as heck, and awaiting a home to call his own with someone who is patient. Henry is a bit timid, but has come a long way since being here at the shelter. Shy cats like Henry are tame and genuinely enjoy the presence of people in calm, familiar settings, but tend to be skittish about being handled unless done on their own terms. Instant lap cats they’re not. Please, someone give him time! Time and effort invested by even one kind person can help “scaredy cats” blossom. Henry was born in July of 2018. He is healthy and waiting for someone to give him a chance. He also does well with other kitties!

SAM WAS ADOPTED! Meet Sam, who loves the presence of other kitty cats. He enjoys laying in a warm bed, and getting attention. This guy is fluffy, cute, and kind of crazy! He is a bit of a barker, and seems to be a little put -off by other dogs, so we think he would thrive in a one-doggie home. Gibby is a nine-month old black and white lab mix. She weighs about thirty pounds. Some of the staff here at the Ark have called her a “Houdini” as she seems to be quite the monkey. She is very friendly, and always wants to be with people. She loves to give kisses!

Calypso (date of birth 12/1/16) isn’t much of a “people” cat, but she might make the perfect companion for your barn! To best help her, we would strongly encourage you to adopt another friend to go with her, and let them acclimate to their environment before letting them roam free, so they know where home is. The Ark would be willing to adopt out Calypso with a waived adoption fee if you are able to choose a second suitable companion to go with her and pay the second adoption fee. Not all cats are meant to live in the confinement of a home. Many cats provide and serve humans with love and affection, while others provide us and serve us with protection of our barn critters, chickens, and cut down on our mice and rat populations. Why not bring home a healthy, spayed/neutered kitty to do the job? Calypso and a couple of her friends are currently accepting applications.

He is a six month old pup, with TONS of energy! He is about 35 pounds of pure silliness, paired with short little bassett hound-ish legs and a smooshy, kissable face. He is mixed between a chow-chow, lab, beagle and wire-haired terrier. If your family is active, patient and consistent, Drako could use you to help him expel his energy and learn some manners. He will quickly warm up to you and become the love of your life.

While Richard appears to be a tired business man who was late paying his mortgage after his wife left him, we can assure you that he’s simply a shy and timid boy who has spent a long time at the shelter. He is about nine years old, and is really looking to get into your good graces to live out his golden years. It may take some time for him to warm up to you, but we are sure that he needs to go home soon. Perhaps you have some toys and a bed, and an extra food dish kicking around. As a community, it’s important for us to remember that not every kitty is going to rub their face on you within the first hour you meet, and that some pets just need a home and to be fed, and they will come out of their shell. Richard will be easy to care for, and on his own time, he will love you for you if you do the same for him. Besides, he is going to be too busy writing business briefs and going over budgets to take TOO much of your time. It may look like Richard has more important things to do, but he is actually happy to think of a space opening up at the shelter for another kitty in need after he goes home with you.

This kitty’s name is Jack. He looks as if he has heard “the same story” time and time again from people, and is looking for someone for his forever home and who doesn’t just think “he’s cute.” The reality is, Jack has a more positive attitude than that though, and he is POSITIVE that his people will come along. He is a big affectionate, fluffy furball, so the ladies at the shelter wonder why he hasn’t gone home, because he has been here for a while. He is 11 years old and it is high time someone come to get him so he can live out his golden years in style!
