While Richard appears to be a tired business man who was late paying his mortgage after his wife left him, we can assure you that he’s simply a shy and timid boy who has spent a long time at the shelter. He is about nine years old, and is really looking to get into your good graces to live out his golden years. It may take some time for him to warm up to you, but we are sure that he needs to go home soon. Perhaps you have some toys and a bed, and an extra food dish kicking around. As a community, it’s important for us to remember that not every kitty is going to rub their face on you within the first hour you meet, and that some pets just need a home and to be fed, and they will come out of their shell. Richard will be easy to care for, and on his own time, he will love you for you if you do the same for him. Besides, he is going to be too busy writing business briefs and going over budgets to take TOO much of your time. It may look like Richard has more important things to do, but he is actually happy to think of a space opening up at the shelter for another kitty in need after he goes home with you.

This kitty’s name is Jack. He looks as if he has heard “the same story” time and time again from people, and is looking for someone for his forever home and who doesn’t just think “he’s cute.” The reality is, Jack has a more positive attitude than that though, and he is POSITIVE that his people will come along. He is a big affectionate, fluffy furball, so the ladies at the shelter wonder why he hasn’t gone home, because he has been here for a while. He is 11 years old and it is high time someone come to get him so he can live out his golden years in style!

My name is Melman. I am a 4.5-year old neutered male, and I have been here at the shelter for a very long time. I think it’s because I have something called Megacolin, where sometimes I poo by accident or get constipated. The people at the shelter don’t mind, because they really love me and they take such good care of me. But some day, I am hoping that a family will come along and love me the way the shelter girls do. I know that might be hard, because my medications cost about $200 every three months. That is a lot of money for someone to pay, but I figure if someone loves me enough, they won’t mind my ‘spensive medicines and my extra-special care. I am a nice kitty, and I hope someone will come along to give me a lot of attention and play with me.
Love Always,
Melman

My name is Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime is a character from the Transformers. I might have been named for him because Optimus Prime has a strong sense of justice and being dedicated to building peaceful and mutually beneficial co-existence with humans. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I DO! I am an absolute love bug. I am sweet, outgoing, and I’m great with other cats. I am really confused as to why I’m in the shelter, because I’m basically a purr-fect cat. Won’t you come meet me? I know I’m 12 years old, and some might think that is TOO old, but they’re silly. 12 isn’t that old for a kitty, and I can assure you that I’m healthy, and I have a lot of love left to give.
Waiting to go home with you,
Optimus Prime

“Because of you, I will always have a friend.”
-A quote from Bo and Evie.
My name is Bo, and this is my beautiful sister Evie. She is gray and white, and I’m black. We are both very soft, love people, and are easy-going. We are the best of friends and we love to play! My sister Evie is a bit more timid that I am, but I am VERY outgoing! We love laying together and we are great with other cats. We are two years old, and have a ton of love to give you. Would you mind coming to meet us? Love,
Bo and Evie

“A brother is someone who is there when you need him. Someone who picks you up when you fall. A cool cat who is always there for you. A brother is always a friend.”
I’m Titan (right) and this is my brother Troy. We are domestic short hair cats and are 2 ½ years old, and the best of friends. We are almost identical with brown and black tabby markings covering our entire bodies. The only difference between us is that I am a bit darker than Troy. We are such handsome boys but we can be a little timid when you first meet us, but once we become familiar with you we come around very quickly. I love belly rubs and pats whereas my brother Troy over here is more of a head pat kind of kitty. We love to cuddle together, and tend to stay relatively close to one another. We do get along well with other cats, but as far as we can recall, haven’t had much interaction with doggies.
