Woof woof! I’m so pleased to introduce myself. I’m Mia and I’m five whole years old. I am a papillon mix. I’m adorable, sweet, and intelligent. I’m very curious, loving, and bouncy. I came from a home with two other dogs, and I LOVE kitties. (Who doesn’t love kitties? They are so fluffy and cute…but I digress). Hi everyone. My name is George, and I was owner-surrendered. I get anxious around young kids and my owners do not have time for me anymore. I’m a neutered male who is seven years old, and I LOVE belly rubs. I will lay on my back anytime and wag my tail for you! Some of my favorite things are playing, marrow bones, and going for walks. I am house trained, I know basic commands, and also…I LOVE being brushed! I would do well in a home with older children, or with no children. When Lady Beverly came to the shelter, she was very scared, and worried. Here are what the owners have to say: “She loves to kiss, and play. She loves the kids, and loves to walk in the woods where we live, rain or shine. She is loving home and always trying to cuddle. She loves to watch TV, and after one day of being home she made our cat Chester her friend. It has been amazing.”
“We adopted Callie 5 years ago from the Ark and decided about 2 months later she needed a companion so we adopted Mittens but we renamed him Gronk from the Ark as well. They are still happy healthy members of our family. Callie is our little scavenger, I can’t count the times she’s brought home “presents” for us in the form of mice, squirrels, and even a bird a time or two. 
Gronk is our snuggle bug, always greeting us in bed every morning demanding attention. They are both great additions to our family!”
This is the second happy tail happy adoption story, from February 2017. From the owner: “Months after Moose passed, I went to the Ark to find a new companion and was referred to a small Chihuahua Terrier mix named Taco. I was told he’d been rescued from a shelter in Florida and had been adopted about 5-6 times prior only to be returned to the shelter because of his severe behavioral issues. All I can say is, he must have just been waiting for us to take him home! Taco (renamed Tenzin) is happy, healthy, and enjoys hiking, beach time, and snuggling with our cat.”

My name is Melman. I am a 4.5-year old neutered male, and I have been here at the shelter for a very long time. I think it’s because I have something called Megacolin, where sometimes I poo by accident or get constipated. The people at the shelter don’t mind, because they really love me and they take such good care of me. But some day, I am hoping that a family will come along and love me the way the shelter girls do. I know that might be hard, because my medications cost about $200 every three months. That is a lot of money for someone to pay, but I figure if someone loves me enough, they won’t mind my ‘spensive medicines and my extra-special care. I am a nice kitty, and I hope someone will come along to give me a lot of attention and play with me.

I might have been named for him because Optimus Prime has a strong sense of justice and being dedicated to building peaceful and mutually beneficial co-existence with humans. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I DO! I am an absolute love bug. I am sweet, outgoing, and I’m great with other cats. I am really confused as to why I’m in the shelter, because I’m basically a purr-fect cat. I’m Titan (right) and this is my brother Troy. We are domestic short hair cats and are 2 ½ years old, and the best of friends. We are almost identical with brown and black tabby markings covering our entire bodies. The only difference between us is that I am a bit darker than Troy. We are such handsome boys but we can be a little timid when you first meet us, but once we become familiar with you we come around very quickly. I love belly rubs and pats whereas my brother Troy over here is more of a head pat kind of kitty. We love to cuddle together, and tend to stay relatively close to one another. We do get along well with other cats, but as far as we can recall, haven’t had much interaction with doggies.
