Born in the wild in May of 2010, Iggy is a beautiful male with dynamic green eyes and cool “mitten” paws. Very happy with his inside accommodations, he is often found snuggling with the other shelter cats or peeking out from under a fuzzy blanket. He also likes to cruise high above on our catwalks, gazing soulfully down upon us. A beautiful wallflower, Iggy may take a little time to open up to you, but he’s more than ready to climb into a brand new life.
Klein is a shorthaired boy born in June of 2013. A kitten through and through, he is playful, curious, fun loving, happy, and always looking for a new adventure! He really enjoys being around people, loves other cats, and is always eager to introduce himself to new visitors. Come by and introduce yourself to this snazzy, mackerel-swirled love bug.
Snowy is a four-year-old, mild-mannered gentleman with one blue eye and the other green. Snowy was raised in a quiet, peaceful environment, and carries himself in that way. His sleek and composed character would be a compliment to any refined household. Very compatible with all of the other cats, Snowy is ready to settle into a bright new life.
Aurora is a gorgeous, wild-looking Maine Coon mix. Born in November of 2011, she was found fending for herself outdoors with no place to call home. The staff has fallen in love with her elegance, beauty, and inquisitive nature. She’s waiting for someone to look into her exotic green eyes and make that special connection.
Toby is a very cute, uniquely colored, seven-month-old shorthaired male. Born in February of 2012, Toby is a bit shy, often finding little nooks in his community room
to hide. He gets along great with the other cats but still requires some socialization with humans. With some time and attention, Toby’s true personality will shine making him a great addition to any cat-lover’s home. Won’t you give this young boy a shot?
Born in June of 2011, Phoenix is a sweet, majestic cat who mixes nicely with other felines. A bit shy with first encounters, you may hear her lovely meow before actually seeing her. She told us that she hopes to find a warm home with a loving family that will spoil her like a princess. Age: 2 years.
Meet Sir Lancelot, a one-year-old male with a charming personality. Very curious and outgoing, he eagerly welcomes every visitor that comes through the door. Lance is also very playful, easily compatible with other cats, and thoroughly enjoys being groomed. Your handsome Knight awaits you.
A larger-than-life personality, Louisa is a two-year-old Chihuahua who arrived at the Shelter in need of some work. Her prior home life offered her no proper training or socialization, so she will require some patience initially. Once she gets to know you, however, she turns on the charm in a way that only a Chihuahua can. Full of life, love, and loads of cuteness, Louisa is looking for a warm lap to snuggle on. Age: 2.5 years.
Born in July of 2012, Peaches is a super sweet Terrier mix with a beautiful sleek coat and golden-green eyes. A fast learner, she is progressing very nicely with her house and leash training, as well as her recall skills. Giving kisses, snuggling, and long, peaceful naps are a few of her favorite things. Full of love, and Terrier toughness too, Peaches is a pure delight. Age: 1.5 years.
The Bay Ridge Elementary School Pre K class came to visit The Ark, and brought gifts for the pets and the shelter. Items included dog and cat toys, dog and cat treats, paper towels, plastic buckets, and cat litter. Barbara Cates is their teacher.
Keefer, Chloe, and Savannah at The Ark
Chloe and Keefer recently celebrated their birthdays. They had a party and asked that their guests bring “gifts” to donate to the Ark. Not only did they collect food, supplies and toys, but they also collected money. They also adopted Santana, and renamed her Savannah.
