Born in the wild in May of 2010, Iggy is a beautiful male with dynamic green eyes and cool “mitten” paws. Very happy with his inside accommodations, he is often found snuggling with the other shelter cats or peeking out from under a fuzzy blanket. He also likes to cruise high above on our catwalks, gazing soulfully down upon us. A beautiful wallflower, Iggy may take a little time to open up to you, but he’s more than ready to climb into a brand new life.

Her prior home life offered her no proper training or socialization, so she will require some patience initially. A fast learner, she is progressing very nicely with her house and leash training, as well as her recall skills. Giving kisses, snuggling, and long, peaceful naps are a few of her favorite things. The Bay Ridge Elementary School Pre K class came to visit The Ark, and brought gifts for the pets and the shelter. Items included dog and cat toys, dog and cat treats, paper towels, plastic buckets, and cat litter. Barbara Cates is their teacher.

Bayleigh Alley had her 8th birthday party at Jonesport Elementary School. Instead of presents for her, she asked for donations for The Ark. She came in to drop off her donations and to visit with the cats. Her bounty included paper towels, washcloths, canned cat food, canned dog food, dry dog food, dish detergent, cat litter, laundry detergent, cat treats.

Keefer, Chloe, and Savannah at The Ark
Chloe and Keefer recently celebrated their birthdays. They had a party and asked that their guests bring “gifts” to donate to the Ark. Not only did they collect food, supplies and toys, but they also collected money. They also adopted Santana, and renamed her Savannah.
