Introducing Rat and WeeWee the cutest pair of seniors!
Despite being almost 14 years old, they play like they are only 6 years old. They have spunk, and spice and everything nice. Rat is a scruffy terrier mix with the cutest hair do and WeeWee is a toothless bundle of shi tzu. They may be tiny but they are mighty little loves. They love belly rubs and snuggles and anything to do with affection. They are puppy pad trained and would do best in a home with older children, their demeanor around other dogs and cats is unknown. Please consider giving these sweeties a home to live the rest of their lives in 🙂

Meet Jill & Rocco!
This father & daughter pair is just the cutest!
Rocco being 12 yrs old, and Jill being 10. Jill is the more anxious one of the two, but comes around once you spend some time with her! Rocco on the other hand, has enough confidence for the both of them! These pups do not do well with cats or children, but do not seem to mind some other dogs! They would do best in a calm environment where there isn’t many people in and out of the house. Jill and Rocco are the cutest little potatoes, searching around for the furrever home they deserve!

POPPY: B/W (F) 15 weeks old. Only survivor of her newborn litter. Tiny but mighty. She’s wiggly to hold but the first to snuggle up on a chair in the evening.
CATHERINE: Black (F) 15 weeks old. Left behind at 3 weeks when Mom moved her siblings. Very sweet and tiny.
These two bonded immediately and must be adopted together.

Hello everyone, meet Luna!
Luna is a 1 year old lady who would enjoy a more quiet environment. She isn’t really a fan of having a bunch of people around, so having a home where there isn’t a lot of foot traffic is ideal for her. Luna does well with other dogs, and she also does alright with cats. If your home does have a cat it would be preferred that the cat has a space where they can get away from Luna in case she gets to be too much. She is a shy and nervous girl at first meeting, but comes around after spending some time with her. Luna can be a stoic so it can be hard to read what she is feeling because she isn’t used to being able to share how she feels. With that in mind it would be best for her to go to a home with dog savy kids that are respectable of her space when she needs.
Luna is just a shy, sweet girl, hunting for that forever home she deserves. Won’t you help her find it?

Tonka is a 2/3 yr old Great Dane, and has recently had Gastropexy surgery to greatly reduce the risks of bloat. Although he is pretty big the way he is, he does have to gain some pounds to be at a healthy weight for his breed. It seem that even though everybody else knows how big he is, Tonka hasn’t quite gotten the memo. With that in mind, it’d be safer for him to go to a home with older kids. Tonka also does do good with other dogs, but seems to prefer the females.
Tonka is a gentle giant in search of a home. He’s sweet, loving, goofy, funny, and just get a look at that droopy Great Dane face! He is a big lover (literally), so we’re in search of the perfect human(s) to love him like we do!

Say hello to Theodore! Theo is the most handsome and sweetest 13 year old boy! Before arriving here at the shelter Theo went to the vet where he was declared in perfect health despite some dental work needing to be done, slightly under weight and his scrappy appearance! This old man purrs, chats, and snuggles like none other. He has captured the hearts of every staff member that has had the pleasure of meeting him. Theo loves his food and to be held on your shoulder- there is nothing not to love about this big boy! We are looking for a forever home for Theo so he can live the rest of his years in warm loving home. We are still closed to the public (but oh so close to making our final move) but you can fill out an application on our website or message us with any questions about Theo. He really is something special

We are so excited to introduce the most lovable, affectionate, and purr machine of a girl, Minnie. Minnie is 20 years old, the oldest cat here at the The Ark Animal Shelter, even though she doesn’t look or act like a senior cat. Minnie spent 20 years of her life in a loving home until her previous owner unfortunately passed away. It truly breaks our hearts to see Minnie here at the shelter after living 20 years in home, and would love nothing more than to see her go to a home. Minnie is truly one of the most affectionate and loving cats, as I sit here writing this post Minnie has burrowed herself deep into my arms endlessly purring. Minnie will do best in a home as the only animal where she can get the undivided attention she deserves, and in her older years she has become less tolerant of the rambunctious nature of younger animals, although she does wonderful with children! We are excited to announce that
The Ark Animal Shelter will begin our move to the new building! Starting December 23rd until January 27th we will be closed to the public. If you are interested in putting in an application and/or viewing any animals available for adoption please stop in this week or to view our dogs please set up an appointment before we close down on Saturday December 23rd. We will only be accepting applications electronically and again will be closed to the public for viewing as well as our Pet Food Pantry (we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience). Thank you to all for your support and understanding during this time, we will see everyone in the new building in 2024!

This chunky little warthog, is Boris!
Boris is a little Peculiar about the men that he lets near him, and get a little cross when first meeting people of the same gender. If he loves you, he really loves you though! It would be best for Boris to be the only animal in the home, and it’d be best for him to go to a home with NO children either unless they are older and can really be respectful of his personal space. Boris can get pretty excited sometimes and can be a little much. His most favorite thing to do ever, is show you how good his loves are. The hugs that Boris jumps up and give you go unmatched!

Isn’t he just so handsome?
George is best friends with Betty and Valerie here at the shelter and while they don’t have to be adopted together we want to make sure George goes to a home with another cat. George keeps to himself and is a gentle soul! Similarly to Valerie he needs a home that is patient and understanding about the tough life George had before he came to us and gives him the time he needs to come out of his shell. He is such a sweet boy and does enjoy a few pats here and there, but George has had a little bit of a rough go at it. Don’t you just want to help this handsome face?

This is Valerie! Valerie is best friends with George and Betty here at The Ark so we want to make sure she goes to home with another cat. She is a wonderful girl that just needs time and patience so she can come out of her shell. She is quiet and gentle and just an over all laid back kind of lady. She does enjoy a few pets here and there, but when your hands gets close the “airplane ears” make an appearance and her pupils start enlarging. Even though she doesn’t adore it, she does not mind being loved on. Around here we like to say “You can love on Val, but only because Val lets you love on Val”
She really does enjoy the love, and likes the company of other cats. Curling up and cuddling with others when she gets the chance. Valerie is just looking for the home for her, won’t you open yours to her?
