Spicy

Spicy

Spicy is a sweet Puerto Rican girl who will need to go home with someone who is dedicated to working with shy, timid and fearful dogs. She will need a chance to come out of her shell and trust you. Come in to meet her today!

Laica

Laica

Laica may be a toy thief and a bit of a bandit with stuffed animals, but she sure is pretty and she is just a little sweet heart. She is a lab mix marked with white and tan, and is about a year old. We would love for you to come meet her! Her ideal  home has plenty of toys, soft bedding, and no kitties.

Laica is currently placed in a foster home, and thankfully due to this placement, we have some very good insight as to how Laica has been doing in a home!

Laica has mastered “sit,” has almost mastered “stay,” is working on “down,” and almost 100% mastered “come.” She is also currently working on “off,” (she jumps because she is so excited) and is doing very well with “heel” (walking with her humans). She has done very well with the “no” word, and is working on shaking. She has mastered her potty training, loves to give kisses, play fetch, tug-o-war, plays well with other dogs, nibbles on people but does NOT hurt.

She is scared of fans and heaters (stove fan, furnace running, car heater) and will freeze or run the other way. She is a very good rider and sits on the floorboard during car rides.

If you are interested in adopting Laica, give us a call today and set up a time to meet with her!

Larimar

Larimar

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a….sausage? No, wait! It’s just Larimar, the cute sausage dog.

Larimar is a cute little girl, happy in every sense of the word and seems to get along well with just about everyone (furry and not furry)! She is shaped a bit like a dachshund with the paws of a basset hound and the face of a Chihuahua/golden retriever. We guess her to weigh around 20-23 pounds and seems to be a bit on the overweight side. She seems to enjoy the outside and doesn’t mind walking on a leash. She is going to make a family very happy some day, and we hope it’s soon! She gets very playful and opens her mouth when playing, exhibiting a “puppy nibble.” It is not rough, but she is just trying to tell you that she loves you and you taste delicious. Her DOB is 2/26/2015.

Bella

Bella

Bella is looking for you to be her heart, soul, and savior. With her precious looks and dynamic personality, she will win you over on your worst of days. Bella needs a quiet home environment with someone who is patient and understanding. Bella is a “door darter,” and will try to escape when you open the door, so she will need someone vigilant and quick on their toes, who is willing to work with her on this unfavorable behavior. She tends to get over-stimulated, and would thrive in a home where she gets a lot of one-on-one attention without a lot of other pets. She barks a lot, and tends to act like a tornado in the bath tub. Perhaps with time, patience, and an understanding owner, she may begin to love bubble baths like the princess that she is! She is great with cats (other then yelling at them sometimes) and does great riding in a car seat (but she yells about that too sometimes). Please call the shelter today to ask about 3-year old yorkie, Bella!

Two Male Rats for Adoption (Holy CUTENESS)!

Two Male Rats for Adoption (Holy CUTENESS)!

Big Mickey Mouses (Mickey Mice? Mickey MEECE?) We digress…Anyway…they are AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! (AKA Rats). It doesn’t take much to convince this shelter staff how wonderful rats are as pets. We simply love ’em! Rats are smart, easy to train, and are not the yucky pets you thought they might be. They spend hours during the day grooming themselves, and they love human companionship and time out of their cages to be held and crawl on your shoulder. We would like to emphasize that these furry babes are available to the right person for PETS and COMPANIONS; not anything else. If you have questions about adoption fees, or the care of these little friends, please call the shelter. *The Ark requires proof that you have an appropriate cage set-up for these pets, as we will not be releasing the rats with the shelter cage*
